The Holiday Season Is Over, What Next?

Normally this is the time that you get to relax and put the holiday season behind you. Put your decorations away, haul the Christmas tree to the curb and start working on your New Years Resolutions. Well in PPC land, our work never ends. When one holiday is over we move on to the next. So what’s on our agenda? Valentines Day.

Some people may think that this holiday is basically just another way for greeting card writers and candy makers to make more money, but that’s not true - it’s a holiday where EVERYBODY can make some cash.

Since we have all had to tighten our wallets and spend money on more practical items, this may be the ideal time to sell your sweetheart on a new coffee pot, instead of the box of overpriced chocolates. When I think of what I would like to get for V-Day, it doesn’t always include the obvious. Especially now since I have to curb my spending on my daily Vanilla Soy Latte, a new Espresso Maker for the home doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

My point is this: Even if you think that your products may not be Valentines Day friendly, think again! Add some incentives to your PPC ads like: Free Shipping until Feb. 10 or Buy in time for Valentines Day and get 10% off.

Be creative and think outside of the box. You just never know what people will buy for that “Special Someone.” :)

The Heart Of A Cactus

Posted by Robyn Craig on Dec 26, 2008

A Solid Cactus employee recently reached out to fellow Shavertown and Wilkes-Barre coworkers to help a friend who is suffering from leukemia. Due to the inability to work and skyrocketing medical expenses, the friend is having difficulty paying for basic necessities such as groceries.
All one had to do was ask, and in flooded a [...]

Ah yes, it is Christmas time. The time of the year we reflect on events of the year, battle mall traffic and exchange gifts in the hopes we get something cooler than a Chia Pet. Man, I love the holidays! However, something has been brought to my attention..Although I am a Senior Marketing Manager here [...]

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Well, it is that time of year again…time for Northeastern Pennsylvania to see beautiful blankets of snow as we approach the holidays. Pictured is our lovely home in the midst of the expected 6-12 inch snowstorm we are enjoying. (Well, the skiers are enjoying…but the drivers of cars with no 4WD or traction…”sleds” [...]

Apple has betrayed their Tribe

Posted by Michael Jozaitis on Dec 18, 2008

After years of carving out a niche of highly dedicated, involved, loyal & die-hard fans Apple has essentially turned their back on their base. I’m not MacWorld historian but I’ve got a pretty good idea that it’s a summit for die-hards, early adopters and major media press.
Apple just annouced they won’t be exhibiting at MacWorld [...]

Small business owners and marketers everywhere are in the final stretch of the holiday season. Everyone here is making the final push to pull in as many sales as possible. If you did your homework and ran holiday promotions, along with special Black Friday/Cyber Monday and Green Monday sales, you were primed to capture that [...]

Too Many Cooks In The Kitchen?

Posted by Robyn Craig on Dec 12, 2008

When building a PPC account, it is important to take a targeted, organized approach to the logic behind the account structure. PPC accounts are comprised of a hierarchy of campaigns, ad groups, keywords and ads.
Avoid a stew full of themes and terms.  For example, if you sell sporting goods, you wouldn’t want to [...]

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree…

Posted by Jean Lloyd on Dec 11, 2008

All the departments across Solid Cactus are in the midst of a war. This war isn’t being fought with weapons. Oh no, this war is being fought with lights, garland and ornaments. It’s our Christmas tree decorating contest. Scott got trees for each department to decorate this year. They’re actually lining the hall right in [...]

Glad to be back :)

Recently, I transitioned back into my old department, the one where I started my career here at Cactus with. In coming back, all the good memories that I took with me to my other position at Cactus are still here. The laughs, the singing, the silly banter that goes back and forth over the cubes, [...]
