If you read the official Inside Adwords blog, you’ll already know that Google is planning a complete overhaul of the Adwords web interface. They’ve even started a new series to highlight the upcoming changes, dubbed “New Interface Thursdays”.
I attended a webinar a couple of weeks ago that went through many of the features in the new beta, and I’ll admit I’m torn. I’m stuck in my ways, and I don’t want to learn new things. I know where to find all my tools in the old interface, and I’m comfortable with the setup. Just like how I’ll cling to my Motorola Razr until it dies - not like these young whipper snappers with their shiny iPhones! We don’t need some new fangled interface and you can’t make me use it! Darn you Google!!! *shakes fist angrily*
All kidding aside, once I get over myself and start using it, I’m sure I’ll adapt to the new look. It actually borrows a lot from the functionality of the Adwords Editor… and to quote Martha - it’s a good thing. The editor makes it simple to make complex bulk changes. It’s also a much easier interface for building new accounts. The new interface is also integrating some reporting features right on the pages you’ll need them for, so it should end up being more efficient.
Has anyone else taken a look at the new interface? What do you love, and what do you hate? It’s still in beta, so now is the time to take a look and weigh in before Google opens it up to the masses. I’ll be doing that this weekend, when I’m not chasing those darn kids off my lawn *more angry fist shaking*
