Ok… I saw this and I had to share. It combines a couple of my favorite things:
Twitter & Jimmy Fallon.
(Scott, you thought one of them was going to be AC/DC, didn’t you?
)
Last week, Jimmy Fallon let his Twitter followers know he was going to be working on an experiment during his taping. Around 6pm, during the taping, he asked all of his followers to start following Bryan Brinkman. He also linked to a post on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon blog to explain the experiment. Long story short, they were looking to see how many followers they could get for Bryan, with the ultimate goal of getting him more followers than Barack Obama. Before the show even aired, he was up over 6,000, and as of Monday morning I see over 34,000 Tweeple following Bryan. He’s been back on the show again, and while the initial surge of followers has slowed, Fallon is still pushing to get the numbers higher.
With only two weeks as the host of Late Night under his belt, Jimmy is quickly differentiating himself from his predecessor. As a search marketer, I’m impressed with how he’s embraced social media and new technology. The buzz he’s generating is awesome and a refreshing change of pace to the late night scene. It seems like he really does understand the power of an internet presence and how it can be a critical part of his success. With full episodes available online, and a blog that’s updated daily, it looks like Jimmy is well on his way!
And on an unrelated note - have you seen this canoli? OMG!
