It’s An Invasion Of The Infected

Last week, for those who don’t know, Resident Evil 5 came out and the Best Buy in Stroudsburg went all out for the highly anticipated game release. This is the seventh direct installment to the Resident Evil series, which originally debuted in 1996. As of the end of February of this year, the game series has sold 34.5 million copies and has been multi formated to all types of game consoles as PS2, PS3, Sega Dreamcast, GameCube, Wii, Gameboy Color and PC. Also, you may recall, the have been three movies made based on the Resident Evil game and there is a fourth one in the works.
The event that took place at the Stroudsburg Best Buy was an interesting one; the Stoudsburg store being the only one to partake in an all-out release bash. For the release, the store was transformed into a haunted house. The employees were also transformed into frightful zombies to celebrate the games release. Capcom sponsored the huge event in Stroudsburg’s Best Buy. I found this to be an excellent form of viral marketing to raise awareness. Unfortunately,  I wasn’t able to attend this completely awesome extravaganza because I had to work at the Best Buy in Wilkes Barre that night . This created huge hype, people from other states called the Best Buy Stroudsburg store to get directions to come to this solely located survivor horror event.
