Google’s Conversion Optimizer continues to excite and frustrate me, and I think I’m not the only one. If you drive any kind of volume in your Adwords campaigns, you’ve probably seen the links in your account encouraging you to try the Conversion Optimizer.
I had the chance to try it early on in the beta, probably about a year ago. I didn’t see an increase in conversions, and after several weeks we ended our test. Now, I fully admit that Google has been working hard on this product since then. Many of the issues I had at the time - campaigns had to have a minimum of 200 conversions in the last 30 days, for example - aren’t such big issues now. I also believe that Google should be able to build an awesome bid management tool since they have all the information they need about our accounts to make it work.
I’m seeing more and more Conversion Optimizer fans out there, and I’m thinking about running another test of my own. But first, I was wondering if anyone had their own Conversion Optimizer stories to share?
