I read today at SEO Roundtable that Google Adwords is going to start using Twitter to communicate updates and function as a support service of sorts. It sounds like a match made in heaven, at least for me!
If you’re not familiar with Twitter, many businesses are starting to leverage it as a way to communicate directly with their customers. Some great examples are the CEO of Zappos and Mahalo founder Jason Calacanis, who share updates about their own businesses as well as glimpses into their personal interests. Twitter serves as a type of “hyper-blogging” that you can send and receive from your PC, cellphone and IM. I use it to follow leaders in my industry as well as brands that I’m loyal to.
It’s pretty exciting to see Google using this technology more in-depth. Right now it looks like this is mostly feeding from the Inside Adwords blog, but there’s opportunity for quality interaction with Adwords advertisers.
