You Want To Marry Candy

If you have been fortunate enough to share in all of the great sessions at Boot Camp, you experienced this example first-hand; if not, I hope you will enjoy this illustration from the session, Internet Marketing: A Real-World Example, presented by yours truly and Pam Macharola, BlairCandy.com:

> Marketing is like a dating scene; you are trying to attract attention.

> Many others are “courting” the same prospect. (We’ll call her “Candy”.)

> Getting the click is like obtaining Candy’s phone number.

> As Candy browses your site, you are “getting to know each other”.

> If Candy decides she likes what she sees, and decides to “buy” what you’re “selling”, she accepts a first date. (SCORE!  You just made a sale!)

> Candy may or may not decide to contact you after the first date, so you need to pursue her and keep her attention. (Email marketing, direct mail, survey, etc.)

> Hopefully, Candy will tell her friends and family about you. (Word-of-mouth/Viral Marketing)

> The ultimate goal is marriage.   (Lifetime customer)    And you know what comes after marrying Candy…Baby Ruth!
