Don’t Panic!

Posted by Joanne Hart on Oct 31, 2008

If you’ve been watching the news, listening to the radio or reading newspapers during the past couple of weeks, chances are you’ve heard at least one financial adviser warning investors at large that panic is not a sound investment strategy. Of course, it’s not easy to watch your portfolio lose so much of it’s value [...]

Zombies and The Chainsaw Of Justice

Posted by Michael Rowland on Oct 31, 2008

It was cold last night, as I sat motionless in the shadows, covered in camouflage, waiting for mischievous teenagers to t.p. my house on Mischief Night. At about 11p.m., I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. Something big and hairy, about 8 ft tall, was coming at me and it was angry. [...]

Spirits

Posted by Jeff Petrosillo on Oct 31, 2008

Halloween is upon us, the time of the year where the boundary between the living and the dead is dissolved allowing the spirits to wander our mortal world.  This concept of bridging the gap between physical reality and the spirit world is something we as conversion optimization analysts contemplate daily (but instead of actual spirits [...]

Customer Centric Marketing

Posted by Jeff Petrosillo on Oct 30, 2008

I just came across a great article written by Brian Ross (no known relation to “the” Brian Ross) on the new era of data-driven customer centric marketing.
http://www.dmnews.com/How-customer-centric-retailers-ask-deeper-questions-and-get-better-answers/article/120138/

Wait, What Did My SEM Manager Just Say?

Posted by Michael Jozaitis on Oct 28, 2008

More often that not being in the SEM industry has the capacity to make you -
A. Talk faster
B. Analyze ever bit of data you can get your hands on
and..
C. Talk in acronyms (ROAS, CPA, CTR, Conv. Rate, CPC, PPC, SEM…)
To us these are normal common place words, but we must remember that not everyone in [...]

Yahoo Web Analytics!

Posted by Jean Lloyd on Oct 28, 2008

Jeff P. posted about the new Yahoo Web Analytics the other day, and I wanted to mention it on our blog as well. We’re all very excited to see it roll out over here, and we’re encouraging Yahoo Store owners to test it out. Maybe you’re already using Google Analytics or another analytics tool, but [...]

Declining Online Sales

Posted by Jeff Petrosillo on Oct 28, 2008

Forrester Research recently announced that the poor economic conditions are going to significantly slow US online holiday sales.
This sounds like bad news until you read the first line of the article:
“US online retail sales this holiday season will reach $44 billion, a 12% increase over last year and the slowest growth rate to date”

This is [...]

Hallelujah! I Have Seen The Light!

Posted by Michael Rowland on Oct 28, 2008

I have had a change of heart. That’s right, your favorite hardcore, beer sipping Marine blogger has seen the light. I am no longer going to be the aggressive, yet incredibly good looking blogger you all have come to know and love. A colleague (and good friend) of mine wrote a blog pointing out the [...]
