Something recently dawned on me. I look at client’s sites day after day. I see how they are arranged and what their top selling items are and what needs to be advertised more to push some sales. As I pass these wonderful new stores on to my friends, I realize I’m not utilizing them myself! I, like my friends, am a “shop-aholic”, whether it be in a brick and mortar store, or online, and never even thought to start shopping in these stores myself (never said I was the sharpest tool in the shed). I’m so consumed in looking at these sites as clients and trying to help them get conversions and boost their sales that I haven’t really taken a step back and looked at any of our accounts as a consumer!
So, when I had some free time after work, I began to shop, buying things that I would have never known about if I didn’t have these people as clients. It was fun being on the other end. I encourage everyone to take a different look at your accounts…look at them as the consumer for a change. Spend a little bit of that hard hard earned cash. Just think, when you come in to work the next day and conversions are up, the happiness will be two-fold, you have something new and your client has another conversion.
