So you want to create a campaign that will produce results. Along with Ad Copy and selecting the appropriate keywords, you will ultimately need the correct landing page. Without having an effective landing page the opportunity to produce significant sales will be lost.
First think of the product you would like to sell. Then develop a campaign and an Ad Group that reflects the specific product. For example, if you are selling LCD Tv’s in multiple sizes, create an Ad Group that will reflect each size. Within each different Ad Group, develop keywords that reflect the sizing.
For example, if you want to advertise for a 42″ LCD TV, ensure all the components of the Campaign are related to LCD Tv’s. Once the campaign is created make an ad group that will reflect the size (i.e. 42″), then develop the keywords to reflect the TV size and style (campaign name).
Example:
Campaign: LCD Tv’s
Ad Group: 42″
Keywords: 42″ lcd tvs, fortytwo inch lcd tv’s, etc…
Essentially, choose the landing page that directly reflects your keywords. Think of the landing page as your virtual salesman. What do you want to see when you walk into a store? Do you want to see other options? What information would you like have? What is the cost? What are the dimensions? What colors are available? Be sure to take all these questions into consideration when choosing your landing page.
Following the structure above will help improve quality score and ultimately reduce your CPC’s. Think about it; the less you pay for a sale, the more money you will make.
